On 14 October 2022 the ID5 Partners agreed on seven recommendations relating to the admissibility of Internet information as prior art for novelty and obviousness examinations. These recommendations reflect the increasing importance of the Internet as source of design disclosure. The recommendations cover public availability and accessibility and a list of sources that are generally considered reliable. They also give suggestions to determine the date of disclosure and the type of information/evidence for proving disclosure in invalidation procedures.
